Registration in SisA and Mobility Online

After receiving confirmation of the Education Committee, the student starts to register their internship in SisA and complete the process in Mobility Online. Only once this registration is completed, the student is covered by the university’s insurance during their internship.

The student makes specific agreements with the internship organisation about the way the internship will be done (full-time/part-time, consecutive or staggered days, hours, etc.) and the internship planning (work schedule). When drawing up the internship plan, the student takes into account the Master’s thesis and the other courses of the semester in which an active contribution is expected or where attendance is mandatory.

The registration procedure, including the upload of all mandatory documents, must be finalised at the latest four weeks before the actual start of the research internship. If the research internship takes place during the summer holidays the registration needs to be completed before 31st of May!

Tips for a smooth registration in Mobility Online:

• Read the manual carefully – many common questions are already answered there.
• The internship supervisor at the University of Antwerp (this is the person authorised to sign the internship agreement on behalf of the university) is prof. Tom Tytgat.
• Download all required documents (internship agreement, risk analysis, etc.) first before contacting your internship organization to avoid unnecessary back-and-forth.
• When asked for a description of your internship, focus on the location (office, field, lab, etc.) rather than the details of your project.
• Check your completed risk analysis to see if a health assessment is required, and whether it should be arranged by the company or through University of Antwerp (see 3. Health supervision in the risk analysis form).
  • For students who did their bachelor in bioscience engineering at University of Antwerp: You have already obtained a health assessment form for the course ‘Projectwerk met inbegrip van stage’ and thus can use this form if needed – no need to repeat it.
