Submit Your Master’s Thesis for Awards

Thinking of entering your thesis for recognition? Below are some prizes that SUBE students may be eligible for, with main criteria, deadlines, prize amounts, and links. If your thesis was supervised by Ghent University or KU Leuven, there are extra options below.

Important for all applicants : Always ask your promotor in writing for permission before you submit your thesis for any of these awards.

Award for best Master’s Thesis Sustainability – University of Antwerp

  • For an exceptional master’s thesis that contributes to sustainability, sustainable development, and/or socio-ecological justice, and/or the circular economy.
  • Minimum score of 15/20
  • Prize: €1,000

Future Proef Award – Flemish government

 

Vlaamse Scriptieprijs / Flemish Thesis Award – Flemish government

  • Theses focused on quality, newsworthiness, originality, relevance
  • Participating also qualifies you for sub-prizes (Eos, mtech+, NBN Sustainability, Klasse, etc.).
  • Prize: €2,500 for the main prize; other amounts for nominees and sub-prizes.

ie-net Awards – Professional association ie-net

  • For engineering theses that show societal relevance, creativity & innovation, and solid research.
  • Various prizes: e.g. €1,000, €500, €250 plus possible public/prize awards
  • Including a training in scientific presentation skills for each finalist.
